Error “Could not connect to server: Connection timed out”, when firing SQL query on SQL Server 2005

I am database application developer and use SQL server 2005 for this purpose, but since last week I have an issue in my SQL server is whenever I try to fire SQL select query to retrieve a record from database, I get nothing except this error message which I mentioned earlier in question. Why I am getting this error message? Is there any fix for this issue?

Re: Error “Could not connect to server: Connection timed out”, when firing SQL query on SQL Server 2005

    Hello Friend,

If you are getting this error means there is a problem of connection timed out.

This error happened in two case.

    1. If there is a lots of record in a table. In that case it will take lots of time to retrieve record from database and connection become close before retrieving data because of that it is showing this error.

    2. Sometimes when server is slow in that case also it will give this error.

To overcome this, problem using Indexing on a table.

Indexing is used for fast retrieving data from a table.

There are two types of Indexing

    1. Clustered Indexing

    2. Non Clustered Indexing

    Thanks,

    All the best
